Hosted by our friends and colleagues at Tech Impact, this in-depth series covers topics including WordPress as a full content management system, growing brand awareness with social media, and keeping websites safe and hack free.
After attending and presenting at her first WordCamp in Philly in June, Lauren Pittenger attended and delivered another talk at her second WordCamp in Scranton. In July, on the campus of Johnson College, Lauren gave a presentation entitled “Birthing a Child Theme.”
This past weekend, Scranton, Pennsylvania held its first ever WordCamp. Organized by Joe Casabona and Phil Erb, the WordPress-focused event was equal parts fun and educational. Given that we use WordPress as our sole platform for building websites, we are delighted when we can give back to the community that surrounds the open source software.
We are delighted to report that, by all accounts, WordCamp Philly 2015 was a resounding success. The attendees, speakers, volunteers and sponsors all shared wonderful feedback about the quality, professionalism and friendly atmosphere of Philadelphia’s leading yearly WordPress conference.
With the cold months of winter upon us, the little team at LBDesign decided to get to out-of-town industry conferences. Lauren Pittenger was the smarter of the two as she booked flights for Las Vegas. Liam Dempsey only managed to pick-up a speaking opportunity at a conference less than an hour away.

Europe saw its first Europe-wide WordCamp last weekend and we were thrilled to be on hand to take part. Skipping onto the continent from our London office, Ngaire Ackerley was happy to head to Leiden to be one of the 700 attendees at WordCamp Europe.
