Over the past two years, we have happily supported Good Neighbor Day, a day-long, community-focused event in Downingtown, PA. Yesterday, we attended the event for the first time as a company. While Liam has been attending the event for many years, it was Lauren’s first time. It was enjoyable to get out from behind our computer screens to see the event and meet some of the vendors in person.
The Festivities
Good Neighbor Day is a day-long event that includes 5k, 10k and 15k runs and a 5k walk. There are many craft and food vendors selling their goods and wares, which range from jewelry to Mary Kay, and from windows and bath fitters to pottery, and more. In addition to the vendors, there are fair rides and games for the whole family to enjoy.
Proceeds from the day go to support ambulance and rescue squads within the Downingtown Area School District.
Supporting Good Neighbor Day
This year, for the second year as a sponsor of Good Neighbor Day, we donated our skills and services by expanding its website to include online registration and payments for vendors. We also added functionality which allowed vendors to be automatically published onto the website after they successfully registered and paid.
Our donated efforts to expand the site’s functionality reduced the amount of administrative work for the event organizers. The upgrades also made the registration process for vendors smoother.
