Liam Dempsey is a communications designer working in both print and web media. Fascinated by the thought of distributing ideas on screen and on paper, Liam has more than two decades of experience as a graphic designer, marketing consultant and copy writer.
The internet, with its ability to communicate across the face of the world in seconds, never ceases to amaze him. And yet, a printed piece, with its tactile surface, its rigid and clearly defined edges holds a certain romanticism for Liam.
Liam co-founded the Start Local Podcast in April 2020 as a way to help local business and nonprofit leaders connect and grow together. Over the years, the show has developed into a leading local podcast.
Stepping Out of the Office
When not in front of the computer (playing, working or chilling out), Liam enjoys reading, watching football (soccer), cycling, and drinking good beers, wines, and cocktails with friends. He is a regular sight along the walking paths in the wooded hills of eastern Pennsylvania. His e-bike is his preferred method of transportation.
Gotta Mention Pizza
Some time around 2015, Liam began making homemade pizza. What began as a way to unwind after the work week and to connect with family has evolved into a passion for Liam. He makes Chicago-style deep dish, always cooking in cast iron pans – at 500º F. He has developed a number of his own dough recipes, has at least one sauce recipe, and crafted his own blend of pizza spice.
