Getting into Public Speaking

As a designer and front-end developer, Lauren Pittenger is quickly becoming a regular on the public speaking circuit. Having just started in 2015, Lauren has already spoken at three WordCamps. She is quickly building a name for herself as an intelligent, articulate and approachable web professional.

Where It Began for Lauren: WordCamps

With her first public talk at WordCamp Philadelphia in June 2015, she went on to speak at WordCamp Scranton in July. She was then invited to speak at WordCamp NYC, one of the biggest WordCamps in the world.

As GDI Philly celebrated its four year anniversary in October, Lauren was asked to tell her story to the 100+ attendees of the impact GDI has had on her and how the organization has helped progress her career.

ELA Conference: Empowering Women to Become Leaders, Teachers, and Speakers

As noted in her bio on the ELA Conference website, Lauren is very much an introvert. When she graduated high school, she was voted as one of the quietest people in her class. Now, as she builds her career in tech, Lauren has learned how to empower herself in order to deliver presentations and talks in front of large crowds.

On Saturday, 21-Nov-2015 at the Wharton School, Lauren will lead a workshop on how to get started speaking. She will share her story of how, as an introvert, she began public speaking. She will highlight ways to gain confidence and momentum on the way to leveling up.
